Overview
The AC Electromagnetic Shoe Brake is a vital component used in cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment to ensure safe, controlled, and efficient braking operations. It works on the electromagnetic principle and provides instant, reliable stopping power when the power supply is cut off — making it a fail-safe braking system widely used in industrial and heavy-duty applications.

Key Features
-
Fail-Safe Operation: Automatically applies brake during power loss.
-
High Durability: Manufactured with heavy-duty cast iron or steel for long service life.
-
Quick Response: Instant braking action with smooth and silent operation.
-
Easy Maintenance: Simple design with replaceable brake linings.
-
Adjustable Torque: Braking force can be fine-tuned as per operational requirements.
How It Works
When electrical power (AC supply) is applied to the electromagnetic coil, a magnetic field is generated, which attracts the armature and releases the brake shoes from the drum, allowing the motor or crane to move freely.
When the power supply is disconnected, the magnetic field disappears, and spring pressure forces the brake shoes back onto the drum, effectively stopping the motion immediately.
This fail-safe mechanism ensures that the brake is automatically applied during power failure, offering maximum safety during lifting or load-holding operations.
